I am honored that you asked me to write a testimonial, especially due to the success of our project and recent Go-Live on January 2, 2007. It all started from your efforts at Train the Trainer Training: Training for Impact that you facilitated on May 15-16, 2006. Now, eight months later, we are experiencing the incredible influence that you had on our group of trainers.

With a major audit being conducted, our go-live date and reason to train was extended out from September 2006 to January 2007. I was excited to have the extra months, as this became the ideal opportunity to train folks more effectively. We used several techniques that you covered at your sessions, primarily - having people participate!

We learned from our time with you that there are many ways to train people and one specific way to ensure competency. The trainers literally continued for months to meet with their folks and practice with real activities. For example, they practiced in the test environment what would become required for the information in the new, live system. More specifically, we had 80% participation from customer service folks as they practiced entering orders and estimates in the test environment. Then, as we approached the new business system go-live, the participation went up to 100%.

Finally, to ensure that we fully prepared our people, we required folks to pass a competency test! As they passed their specific department test, I printed out certificates to give to them as a reward for their efforts. Even now as we are in our second week of Go-Live, I am more impressed each day with the success of the new business system implementation project. I have done this project before and we were not able to train as much. That project was a failure compared to this! Melanie, we thank you for your passion and sharing that with us. You shined light on the path that led to our success.
